Tradition and Innovation since 1982
1982: The Beginning
Since 1982, MTH Zeltbau has been a reliable partner for campers. The first custom-made, freestanding caravan awnings in pent roof design (model “Allgäu”) were produced in Schechingen.
Early 1980s: Innovation in Processing
With the successful processing of high-quality and durable fabrics, the idea emerged to manufacture sun protection fabrics in screen quality such as Glastex or Soltis. For this purpose, MTH Zeltbau developed special high-frequency welding machines to optimize the fabrication of these fabrics. Not only in technology, but also in processing, MTH found new ways to significantly improve the dimensional accuracy of the fabrics. Even demanding shapes such as triangular or trapezoidal fabrics pose no difficulty for MTH.
1989: Relocation to Eschach
In 1989, MTH Zeltbau relocated to Eschach and produced there for eight years. During this time, the gable roof tent (model “Schwaben”) was created, which celebrated a successful market entry. At the same time, a new model series with aluminum construction was introduced: models “Hessen” and “Bremen”.
1990s: Continuous Development
Our many years of experience also flow into the development of caravan protection roofs, which are continuously improved to provide even greater protection and stability.
1997: Expansion in Schechingen
In 1997, MTH Zeltbau acquired a larger site in Schechingen to meet the increased order volume. There, our highlight was created: the bay window tent, model “Bayern”, an enhanced version of the proven model “Allgäu”.
Today: Success and Growth
Today, the MTH site encompasses 13,000 m², where 30 team members manufacture caravan awnings, caravan protection roofs, carports, and pavilions.
